Z Club of Lebanon High School
"Z Club" is the longest running service project of Zonta International (www.zonta.org), initiated in 1948 to provide High School students the opportunity to become involved in community, school and international service projects; to become aware and advocate for women's issues; and to develop leadership skills. There are over 200 Z Clubs in 20 countries. The Zonta Club of Lebanon is proud to sponsor the Z Club of Lebanon HS since 1978! Lebanon High School Z Club takes a stand to stop violence against women in the world. We ask others to stand with us and wear orange ribbons from November 25th through December 10th.
Indiana United Methodist Children's Home
Lebanon Indiana is fortunate to have this facility in our community, dedicated to helping emotionally troubled youth. Our club members provide time, support and fun activities for the girls especially at Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's Day. KIVA
We reach out directly to the international community by supporting Kiva, which is a non-profit organization that combats poverty by making small loans to borrowers around the world. By donating at least $25 at each Zonta meeting, we are able to sponsor one borrower. When the borrower repays the money we invested, we can then re-invest that money in another borrower. Find more information about Kiva at www.kiva.org. |
International Service
The Zonta International Service Program has provided training, education, health, sanitation, agricultural and micro-credit assistance to women, primarily through projects implemented by the agencies of the United Nations and other recognized non-governmental organizations. Since 1923, Zonta has provided more than US$11 million to projects benefiting more than 2 million women in 37 countries. Each biennium Zonta International supports at least 2 major projects through the International Service Program.
ZISVAW is Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women Program.
Gender-based violence affects women of every race, class, culture, ethnicity, age and country. Zonta International strives to reduce the incidence of violence for all women and girls by supporting programs through the ZISVAW Program. |
