The Zonta Club of Lebanon brought awareness to its community about the increasing trend in Teen Dating Violence. In attendance were Z-Club high school girls, the age targeted in this type of abuse. Also in attendance were police officers, judges, chaplains who deal with the outcomes of domestic violence. The aim of the program and vigil was to bring awareness of the need for education and support in breaking the cycle of abuse. Noted guest speakers were Maria Larrison, CEO of Sheltering Wings Women's Shelter and Reverend Captain Terri Thorn, pastor of a local church and chaplain with 2 police departments. Key note speaker, Stacy Paetz, Fox 59 Sports, spoke from the heart about her own abuse as a teen in a dating relationship. While in college pursuing her dream as an athlete and ultimately sports anchor her boyfriend abused her physically and emotionally. A turning point came when a friend was murdered in another case of teen dating violence. She ended her relationship and moved on to advocate for teens and women using her celebrity as a studio host and sports reporter to speak out for awareness and prevention
